At Jesmond Parish Church we take the safety of all in our care very seriously, particularly for children and adults who may be at risk.

We have robust recruitment procedures in place for any staff or volunteer roles working with under 18s and adults who may be at risk, including up-to-date DBS (police record) checks where required.

In addition, our programmes and events are risk-assessed at least annually and staff and volunteer leaders are trained and updated annually in both fire and safeguarding procedures.

If you would like to know more you can read our Safeguarding Policy.

This policy takes into account the Church of England’s safeguarding policy statement of 2017, called Promoting a Safer Church.

JPC’s policy on the recruitment of ex-offenders can be found here.
